Rotary Club of Maroondah is hosting a Gala Night Saturday 18th March from 7pm at Karralyka.  It would be awesome if you could come along.  Perhaps your Club may be interested as well.  The night will be raising funds and awareness of Mental Health, particularly in the Eastern suburbs.

Over the last few years, our Club supported services such as Eastern Health’s mental health services and the 4TK organisation, based in Ringwood which offers youth a safe and inclusive community space.

Our club is very aware of the current pressures on society, particularly in the areas of mental health and disadvantaged and at-risk youth. It is for this reason that we are targeting mental health and youth support at a Gala Night we are planning to hold on the 18th of March at Karralyka. We will be having a panel of speakers from Eastern Health’s mental health services for the dinner, facilitated by Professor Paul Katz, the head of Eastern Health’s mental health services. Our aim for the evening is to raise awareness of local mental health service support that is available to the community.

The Karralyka Centre will hold up to 250 people for a sit-down dinner and there will be a 7-piece dance band after the speakers to provide some entertainment. The event will commence at 7pm and conclude at midnight. Our Rotary club will be marketing the event across the eastern suburbs, and there is a well-established connection between our club and many businesses within the local area. Our recent golf day staged in November and trailer raffle in December raised over $30,000 for current known and projects committed to. Our Gala Night we trust will return us around $20,000 which we can direct to Eastern Health ’s Mental Health programs.
