Malaria Awareness Day (MAD)
 
Rotarians Against Malaria (RAM) are holding a "No Mosquito Picnic Lunch " to raise funds to help with the elimination of malaria

Join the fun at Six Acres Winery

On arrival you will receive a free glass of wine (additional glasses at bar prices).

The picnic lunch will consist of a spit roast with beef, lamb and pork, (Vegetarian option available), hot roasted potatoes, freshly baked dinner rolls, and four different salads.

Belated International Women's Business Breakfast

The Rotary Clubs of Monash and Mount Waverley invite to the 2022 Belated International Women's Business Breakfast where the speakers will provide practicable tips and tools on how we can break gender biases with respect to leadership roles, in the sports industry and with respect to healthcare through real life examples.

Our Speakers are:

  • Peta Searle OAM. Peta was the first female coach in the Australian Football League and the Victorian Football League. Peta has also been a Head Coach for the Western Bulldogs Women's team. Peta was inducted into the Victorian Honour Roll of Women in 2017 and received an Order of Australia in 2019 for her services to the AFL
  • Dr Tamara Kwarteng. Over the last 30 years, Tamara has developed extensive experience and expertise in designing, implementing and evaluating public health programs that address health inequity. Her experience includes being a former Deputy Director of the Centre for International Health at the Burnet Institute for Medical Research and Public Health, She was inducted into the Victorian Honour Roll of Women in 2020.
  • Dr Angela Spinney (Charity Representative).  Angela is considered a leading authority in Australia on the concepts, policy and practice implications of homelessness prevention for women and children who have experienced family violence.

All profits will go towards the new crises accommodation in the City of Monash by Kara Family Violence Service

Reduced ticket prices are available for tables of 8, Pensioners, Students, Rotaractors and certain Rotary Alumni

The Rotary Youth Leadership Academy (RYLA) is a  transformational leadership conference for   18 – 30 year-olds. 

It focuses on

  • Developing young leaders who celebrate diversity, create sustainable change, and become service-minded global citizens.
  • Personal development, leadership, and teamwork.
  • Provide conflict resolution strategies alongside leadership training.
  • Emphasize professional development and connect participants with opportunities to serve the community through Rotary.
  • Combine leadership development and vocational training to help young people discover their potential and hone skills. 

There are both in-classroom theory activities and outdoor practical activities. ​

Rotary  Clubs financially support  participants to attend. Costs to sponsor are $1049 per participant and $750 per leader - all sponsorships paid prior to 30th April 2022 will be at the early bird price of $949 and $650 respectively.

The next Rotary Youth Leadership Awards will be held on 27th June to 2nd July 2022.

The all new RYLA 2022 will be a joint initiative run by District 9810 and District 9820 and held at Rawson Village in West Gippsland.
