Past President Dr Daryl Moran has been appointed as District Governor Nominee Designate to serve as Governor of our District in 2021-22.

Daryl joined Rotary as a member of the Rotary Club of Caulfield (D9800) in 1990 before serving in the clubs of Mulgrave, Rowville.com and Rowville-Lysterfield, where he was a Charter member.

A retired school teacher, he also worked as a Head of Junior Schools at Caulfield Grammar School - Wheelers Hill, Haileybury College - Brighton and at Eltham College. With wife Jenny, he also worked for two years at an International school in India. He completed his PhD at Melbourne University in 2009 and wrote a thesis dealing with Educational Leadership in Primary Schools.

At Club level he has held various positions and is the current President of the RC of Rowville-Lysterfield. At District level he has served on various District Conference committees, worked as the Conference MC, as an Assistant Governor and is currently serving as the District Youth Service Chair.

A particular passion for Daryl has been the establishment of Earlyact clubs for primary aged children and he is pleased to note that D9810 now sponsors five such clubs. His son was a Youth Exchange student to Germany from this District in 1994 and Daryl and Jenny have been hosts and guardians to four such international students.

Daryl and Jenny have a son and a daughter and five grandchildren. Having recently retired from secondary school teaching, Jenny has also become a Rotarian at Rowville-Lysterfield and is already an active member with a personal interest in the Days for Girls program.

Both Daryl and Jenny are looking forward to the wonderful opportunity to further serve D9810 into the future and are greatly encouraged by the warm wishes and support they have already received.
