PROBUS Australia     Probus is an association of retired and semi-retired people who join together in clubs, the basic purpose of which is to provide regular opportunities for them to keep their minds active, expand their interests and to enjoy the fellowship of new friends.

Probus originated in the UK in 1965. The first Probus Clubs were formed in New Zealand in 1974, and in Australia in 1976. Probus has filled a need for today's active retirees; so much so that the growth has been phenomenal it is now a worldwide movement.

Within District 9810, there are many Probus Clubs established. However, there are still opportunities for new Probus clubs. The following areas in our District appear to have tremendous opportunities for Probus Clubs: Braeside, Chirnside Park, Huntingdale, Wandin, Springvale, Keysborough, Wantirna, Highett, Launching Place, Yarra Glen, Westall, Scoresby, Rowville, Upwey, Clarinda, Bonbeach, Mooroolbark, Kilsyth, Monbulk and Olinda.

This is a great opportunity for Community Service. Please contact PDG Philip Hedley- our District 9810 Probus Chair for further information and assistance.
